About Us
In 2003, two Domino's delivery boys were asked to play some music at a friend's wedding. It was not what you would call professional by any means but music was played none the less. It was never meant to be more than just doing a favor for a good friend. But after the reception the owner of the venue went to them and asked if they would do it again for another wedding the following week. They were very unsure of what to say because they had no knowledge of what a professional disc jockey does. When the owner of venue offered to pay them, they were reluctant to say yes. Thus, SP Sounds was born!!!
New to the world of professional audio, they relied on other industry leaders such as radio jocks and sound engineers to help them along. Funding the company solely on tips earned from delivering pizza, the company grew exponentially. Month after month, the contracts got bigger and bigger and more equipment was purchased and in better quality. After a couple years, it was they who other industry leaders relied on for help. They advised, instructed and provided equipment to some of the top disc jocks and sound engineers in the region. In 2006, co-owner Troy Johnson became the resident dj at Club IP , Imperial Palace Casino in Biloxi. In the world of disc jocks the casino circuit is considered one of the highest honors. In 2007, they were one of the #1 company's used by clients and venues.
In 2009, lead by co-owner and chief sound engineer Brian Hampton and long time friend Jamie Shaw of Autumn Rise-N, the company expanded into the world of live sound production. With many shows behind them and future national tours ahead of them, the company has quite an impressive outlook for the years to come.
